Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - A three-pointer by Jared Archer with 3.4 seconds remaining gave Elizabethtown a 67-66 victory over the Catholic University men's basketball team Sunday at Thompson Gymnasium.
With four regular-season games remaining, the Cardinals (13-6, 6-4 LC) fell to fourth place in the Landmark Conference standings, half-a-game behind rival Scranton.
Sophomore Jesse Hafemeister posted his ninth 20-point game this season, finishing with 22 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds.
Hafemeister was one of three players in double figures as sophomore Colby Martins had 17 points and sophomore Jake Timby had 12.
Catholic trailed by as many as 11 with 13:40 remaining in the second half before using a 20-4 run, keyed by eight points from Martins, to take its largest lead of the game, 64-59 with 5:47 to play.
With under 15 seconds remaining and the shot clock winding down, Martins missed a running jumper from just outside the paint and the Blue Jays grabbed the rebound and started up court on the fast break when Jalin Robinson found Archer for the game-winning three-pointer.
Following a timeout, Catholic had a chance for the win, but Hafemeister's jumper was off the mark.
The Cardinals shot just 36.4 percent from the floorand were 9-of-24 from three-point range while Elizabethtown shot 50.0 percent from the field, including 45.5 percent from three-point range with 10 three-pointers.
Catholic was aided by scoring 23 points off of 19 Blue Jay turnovers. The Cardinals totaled 10 steals which was one shy of their season high.
Senior Frank Lumaj totaled six points and seven rebounds.
Robinson led Elizabethtown (8-12, 3-7 LC) with a game-high 24 points while Archer finished with 11.
Catholic concludes its four-game road trip on Wednesday when it heads to Goucher for a 7 p.m. tip-off with the Gophers from Decker Sports & Recreation Center Arena. The Cardinals won the first meeting this season, 84-40, on Jan. 26.
