Box Score

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Johns Hopkins scored two goals in each half as the No. 6 Blue Jays posted a 4-0 victory over the Catholic University women's soccer team Saturday at Carlini Field.

The Cardinals (2-3) played their second nationally-ranked opponent in the last three games as their 10 non-conference opponents this season combined for 111 wins and a .605 winning percentage in 2019.

Hopkins opened the scoring in the 16th minute on what proved to be the game-winning goal from Callie Jones. The Blue Jays wouldn't score again until the 33rd minute when Molly Reich found Sophia Stone for one of her two assists to give the visitors a 2-0 halftime lead.

Johns Hopkins held a 12-6 edge in shots in the first half and just two corner kicks while freshman Maeve Graham had four saves.

The Blue Jays added two more tallies in the second half in the 48th and 69th minute. Graham added another save before giving way to senior Marykate Stack who had two saves in the final 17:40.

Sophomore Elana Alber totaled three of Catholic's nine shots, including two on goal.

The Cardinals have eight days before returning to action next Sunday, Sept. 19 against Salisbury at Carlini Field. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
