ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Catholic University women's tennis team posted its fifth win of the season with a 6-3 road victory at Elizabethtown.
The Cardinals (5-2, 5-2 LC) won their second-straight match and were led by seniors Colleen McLaughlin and Grace Connell and sophomore Hanna Scali who each picked up two wins on the day.
McLaughlin and Connell partnered for an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles while Scali and junior Olivia Sensenbrenner won at No. 3 doubles, 8-2, to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead headed into singles play.
After Catholic dropped the first singles match, Connell picked up her second win of the day at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 0-6, 6-3. The Cardinals went on to win the next three singles matches to seal the victory.
Sophomore Abbey Cassidy won at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0, and McLaughlin picked up her second win of the day by dominating at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Scali capped off the day with a win at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-3.
The Cardinals will have a nine-day break before returning to action on Sunday, May 1 for the 2021 Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Championships.
