SCRANTON, Pa. - The Catholic University women's tennis team fell to Scranton on the road on Saturday, 7-2.
After trailing 3-0 after doubles, the Cardinals got two wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Junior Brooke Simonson earned the team's first win in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3 before senior Grace Connell followed with a victory in a tight match at No. 2, 7-5, 6-2.
Junior Olivia Sensenbrenner also had a tight match at No. 6 singles before falling 7-5, 6-2.
Sunday's match with Drew was postponed due to COVID protocols so Catholic will return to action on Thursday when it travels to Elizabethtown for a 3:30 p.m. match with the Blue Jays.
