ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The Catholic University men's rowing team swept both races on Saturday as the Cardinals competed against St. Mary's (Md.) on the St. Mary's River.
Conditions featured an eight mph headwind and an outgoing tide.
The day began with Catholic finishing first in the varsity eight with a time of 7:39.23 while St. Mary's crossed the line second in 8:00.93. The Cardinals' second varsity eight finished in 8:30.80.
Catholic also won the varsity four race, 27 seconds ahead of the Seahawks with a time of 9:20.83. St. Mary's crossed the line in 9:47.40.
The Cardinals will now prepare for the 2021 Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships next Sunday, April 25 on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J.
