ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Catholic University men's tennis team posted its first road win of the season Sunday and its second sweep as the Cardinals posted a 9-0 victory over Elizabethtown indoors at the Bowers Center.

Catholic (3-1, 3-1 LC) also won its third-straight match overall and third consecutive against the Blue Jays.

"The guys came out focused and ready from the first point," said head Nitin Deodhar. "It was great to see. That said, we have a tough stretch coming up with Goucher twice, Drew, and Scranton. We need to stay focused and continue to improve."

Senior Frankie Fortunati and freshman Allan Van Nostrand started things off with an 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles to remain unbeaten in four matches this spring while the tandem of senior Bruno To and junior James Schmalz improved to 2-0 at No. 2 doubles with an 8-2 victory.

Seniors Dom Mazzeo and Christian Papalambros also posted their second win together with an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Individually, Van Nostrand remained unbeaten with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles while Fortunati and junior David Brennan posted their third victories at No. 1 and No. 4 singles, respectively.

After sealing the win against Moravian on Saturday, senior Emmett Lee won his second-straight match and first at No. 5 singles with an 8-1 win over Justin Brown.

The Cardinals look for their fourth-straight win overall and fifth consecutive at home when they host Goucher at the Marty and Jone Dowd Family Tennis Courts on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
