Box Score BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Catholic University men's basketball freshmen Tommy Kelly and Colby Martins combined for 43 points as the Cardinals completed a two-game sweep over Moravian, posting a 74-51 victory at Johnston Hall on Sunday.
Catholic (2-1, 2-1 LC) posted its highest point total in the last 20 games, shooting 47.4 percent from the floor, 50.0 percent from three-point range and 83.3 percent from the free throw line.
Kelly finished with a career-high 22 points while Martins had a career-best 21. The duo combined to go 16-for-25 from the floor and a perfect 6-of-6 from three-point range.
Martins scored 14 first-half points while Kelly added eight as the Cardinals built a 41-20 halftime lead. They held the Greyhounds to just 5-of-28 shooting in the first half while forcing 12 turnovers.
After Moravian scored five of the game's first seven points, the Cardinals netted the next 15 to take a 17-5 advantage and never let it dip below double digits the rest of the way.
Led by Kelly, Catholic scored 30 bench points and totaled 24 points off 24 Greyhound turnovers.
Freshman Jesse Hafemeister, who scored 30 points against the Moravian on Friday, had nine points to go along with five rebounds. Freshman Jake Timby had nine points and three assists while freshman Declan O'Sullivan had a game-high eight rebounds and career-high four blocks.
Greg Eck led the Greyhounds (0-5, 0-5 LC) with 10 points.
Catholic continues its three-game road trip on Tuesday when it heads to Huntingdon, Pa. for a 7 p.m. tip-off against Juniata. A win would give the Cardinals their first three-game win streak since a 90-88 win over Moravian on Feb. 17, 2018.
