SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna scored two goals on three first-half shots en route to a 2-0 Landmark Conference victory Saturday at Sassafras Field.

The Cardinals (5-11, 4-2 LC) and River Hawks are tied for third place in the conference standings, one game behind Moravian and Scranton who are tied for first.

Catholic also suffered its first loss in the last seven road games in the series since Sept. 25, 2010.

Susquehanna (13-3, 4-2 LC) got off to a quick start, scoring what proved to be the game-winning goal just 5:17 into the contest when Sam Banks found Kari Schmidt in front.

Both teams had two shots in the second quarter with the River Hawks doubling their lead midway through when Annalee Smith scored off a penalty corner.

Susquehanna outshot the Cardinals 5-1 over the final 30 minutes as junior Maeve McCarthy made four saves.

Catholic returns to action next Saturday, Oct. 30 when it hosts Juniata at Cardinal Stadium on Senior Day. Game time is at 1 p.m.
