TOWSON, Md. - The Catholic University field hockey team won its 10th-straight Landmark Conference game with a 2-0 road victory over Goucher Wednesday.

The Cardinals (5-8, 4-0 LC) have now won all 15 meetings against the Gophers  dating back to the inaugural 2007 Landmark season.

Catholic took five shots in the first quarter, scoring on one by junior Liv Canterino who picked up her first career goal off an assist from freshman Niki Micciche. The goal came off one of the team's 18 penalty corners in the game.

Junior Maeve McCarthy, the reigning Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week, also made her lone save in the first quarter en route to her second consecutive shutout.

Following a scoreless second, senior Claire Flannery found sophomore Mary Parker for her second goal of the season to give the Cardinals an insurance goal in the third.

After allowing one shot in the first quarter, the Catholic defense did not allow Goucher (1-10, 0-4 LC) another one over the final 45 minutes.

The Cardinals return home to face rival Scranton on Saturday at Cardinal Stadium for Cardinal Weekend. The Royals are currently receiving votes in the latest NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll. Game time is at 5:30 p.m.
