Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Catholic University men's lacrosse team scored the game's final three goals, including the game-winner just 55 seconds into overtime en route to an 11-10 victory over Arcadia Saturday at Jean Lenox Field.
The Cardinals (1-3) picked up their first win of the season and the fourth in five all-time meetings against the Knights.
Arcadia rallied from a 7-4 deficit by scoring six of the next seven goals to take a 10-8 lead with 5:54 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Just over a minute later, sophomore Joey Rockovich totaled his fourth point of the game with his first goal at 4:56 before senior Vince Catenacci scored his second just 49 seconds later to tie the game at 10-10.
After sophomore Mike McShea won the opening faceoff of overtime, Rockovich found sophomore Sean Baudo for his second goal of the game with 3:05 left in overtime.
With two goals and one assist, Baudo was one of three Cardinals who totaled at least three points. Rockovich finished with five points, including a career-high four assists. He also had four assists in a 16-7 win over Goucher on April 10, 2019 when he had a career-high six points.
Sophomore Jack McGorry scored a career-high four goals in his fourth career start, including two in the first four minutes as Catholic jumped out to a 4-0 lead.
Catenacci had two goals while junior Kevin Crowley also scored twice in his Catholic debut after transferring from Division I Hostra.
McShea won 16-of-22 faceoffs and had 13 ground balls while freshman Nic Pezone had 10 saves, including five in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Tynan Hillery totaled two caused turnovers.
Catholic returns home to face local rival Marymount (Va.) on Wednesday. Faceoff from Carlini Field is at 4 p.m.
