OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Catholic University women's tennis team dropped its first road match of the season on Sunday, falling to Stevenson by just one point at the Greenspring Tennis Courts, 5-4.
The Cardinals (1-1) began the day with a 2-1 lead after taking two of the three doubles matches. Juniors Grace Connell and Colleen McLaughlin while sophomore Olivia Sensenbrenner and freshman Bridget Burrus won at No. 2, 8-6.
Sensenbrenner also secured a singles victory for the Cards with a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 3. Freshman Abby Cassidy lost the first at No. 4, but came from behind to post back-to-back 6-2, 6-2 wins in the final two sets to give Catholic its fourth point of the day.
