Box Score 2 BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Sophomore Caroline Kelly was named to the All-Tournament Team, but the Catholic University volleyball team dropped its final two matches at the Route 42 Classic against Lynchburg and host Bridgewater at Nininger Hall.
The Cardinals (1-3), who were without the services of freshman Josephine Morrill who totaled 32 kills and 23 digs on Friday, rallied in both matches to force a fifth and deciding set, but fell to 5-6 in five-set matches the last two seasons.
Kelly finished the two-day event with 104 digs for an average of 6.12 per set en route to earn All-Tourament Team honors.
Lynchburg 3, Catholic 2 (25-18, 20-25, 25-22, 22-25, 20-18)
Senior Isabelle Cooper and junior Patricia Martinez both posted double doubles in the loss to the Hornets (3-1). Cooper totaled 12 kills and 11 digs, two shy of her career high, while Martinez added 15 kills and 18 digs.
