BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Catholic University men's tennis sophomore Frankie Fortunati was a dual winner on Saturday, but with the match tied at 3-3, Moravian won the final three singles matches to edge out a 6-3 Landmark Conference victory at Hoffman Tennis Courts.

The Cardinals (2-8, 0-3 LC) won two out of three singles matches, led by an 8-3 victory at No. 2 by Fortunati and senior Ted Tiu. The duo picked up their team-leading third doubles win this season and first in Landmark Conference matches.

The Greyhounds (8-5, 2-2 LC) took a 3-2 lead after back-to-back, straight-set victories at No. 1 and No. 3 singles before Fortunati tied the match at 3-3 with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 win over Isaac Schefer at No. 2. Fortunati leads the team with five singles victories this season and is 5-5 in dual matches, including 3-1 at No. 2.

However, Moravian clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles and a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 5. Although the match had been decided, junior Joe Colucci battled Mason Hudnall to a 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (10-4) decision at No. 6 singles to provide the final margin.

The Cardinals return to action tomorrow when they travel to Elizabethtown for a Landmark Conference match beginning at noon.
