WASHINGTON, D.C. - Playing in the final home match of her career, Catholic University women's tennis senior Lisa Genadry posted a straight sets victory at No. 5 singles to secure the clinching fifth point for the Cardinals as they posted an 8-1 win over Juniata Saturday at The Dowd Family Tennis Courts.

With the win, Catholic (5-10, 2-4 LC) moved remained one win behind Goucher for the fourth and final spot in the 2019 Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Championship with one match remaining.

Also playing in the final home match of her career, senior Elizabeth Ast was a double winner for the Cardinals, partnering with sophomore Colleen McLaughlin for an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles before posting a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles. Ast snapped a three-match singles losing streak and evened her Landmark Conference record at 3-3 this season. Meanwhile, she and McLaughlin posted their second win in three doubles matches together.

McLaughlin was also a dual winner, posting a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles. She picked up her team-leading eighth win of the season, improving to 7-3 over her last 10 matches.

Freshman Brooke Simonson was the Cards' third two-time winner on Saturday, posting an 8-3 win with junior Lauren Edwards at No. 2 doubles before rallying for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 win over Emily Dowler at No. 2 singles.

Senior Erin Cole also picked up a singles win in her final home match with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Savannah Bailey at No. 1.

Juniata (0-11, 0-6 LC) posted its lone win with an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles.

Sunday's season finale at Susquehanna has been postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m.
