Catholic Volleyball Splits at Stevenson

Owings Mills, Md. — The Catholic University of America volleyball team got its 10th win of the season over St. Mary's (Md.), but also fell to host Stevenson in a doubleheader Saturday.

Rookie Patricia Martinez led the way with 14 kills and 14 digs in the win over St. Mary's. The freshman hit .423 for the match and added an assist.

Seniors Brynn Cooley and a returning Tara Rempel each added 11 kills, while classmate Michelle Seals totaled 26 assists and nine digs in the straight-set victory.

Six different Cardinals totaled kills against Stevenson but none went for more than nine.

Rookie libero Christina Ciola had 17 digs against the Mustangs and added 13 more against the Seahawks.

Catholic returns home this Wednesday in a midweek matchup against McDaniel at 7 p.m.
