Fortunati and Linz Impress with Doubles Wins

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University men's tennis team was victorious over McDaniel, 5-2, this Saturday. They were overcome on Sunday 8-1 by St. Mary's (Md.).

The Cardinals garnered victories from all but one singles players against McDaniel, as all the matches were decided upon in a third set. 

No 1. Jan Lasota took charge going 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 in his singles match. He followed that up with an 8-6 victory with Rob Alexander as the top doubles team.

Frankie Fortunati and RJ Linz also topped the Green Terror 8-5 in the No. 3 doubles spot.

On Sunday, Fortunati and Linz repeated their win at home this time against St. Mary's with a 9-7 score.

Both Lasota and Fortunati took their respective singles matches into the third set where they were defeated by the Seahawks. 

The Cardinals next home match will take place on Saturday, October 7th against Randolph-Macon College at 1 pm.
