Cardinals Edged at Elizabethtown, 6-3

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's tennis team took on Elizabethtown on Saturday and despite several strong performances, the Cardinals were edged in Landmark play, 6-3.

Catholic took two-of-three doubles matches against the Blue Jays and got its third win at No. 6 singles.

The No. 2 doubles team of junior Jenna Gietl and sophomore Erin Cole played one of the best matches of the day, going to a tiebreak for the final point and picking up the 9-8 win, 10-8.

The Cardinals' No. 3 team duo of senior Faith Tamuleviz and junior Lisa Genadry got the second doubles win, 8-5.

Cole nearly went over at No. 3 singles but fell in a tiebreak, 6-3, 4-6, 5-7.

Sophomore Elizabeth Ast came through with the singles win, 6-4, 7-5.

Catholic wraps its regular season next Saturday at Moravian in a matchup that will decide the final conference playoff spot.
