WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's tennis team has now won six matches in a row and two-straight Landmark Conference matches thanks to the Cardinals win at Susquehanna, 9-0, on Sunday.
The Cardinals won all nine matches against the River Hawks and after a perfect March (4-0) the Cards have rolled their momentum into April with a 2-0 Landmark record.
Senior No. 1 Laura Torsiello led the way with a victory at the top singles match, 7-5, 6-4.
She went on to team with junior Sarah MacLean to take the top doubles bout, 8-4. MacLean was also victorious at No. 3 singles, and dropped just a single point, 6-1, 6-0.
Catholic will look to keep its momentum this weekend when they host to Landmark foes. The Cardinals take on Drew on Saturday before they face Scranton on Sunday.
