Cardinals Victorious at Susquehanna, 5-4

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's tennis team evened its Landmark Conference record at 1-1 on Sunday as they were victorious at Susquehanna, 5-4.

Catholic earned wins in two of three doubles matches and took the top two and No. 6 singles.

Junior Jan Lasota was impressive at No. 1 singles as he went over, 6-1, 6-3. He also played in the top doubles match and teamed with classmate Rob Alexander. The duo earned with win, 8-3.

Alexander was strong at No. 2 singles and matched Lasota's 2-0 day with a 6-2, 6-2 win.

Sophomore Matt Pham was also big for the Cardinals as he combined with rookie Kyle Weber for the win at No. 3 doubles in a tie-breaking match, 9-8 (7-5). He also went on to earned a come-from-behind and hard-fought battle at No. 6, 1-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.

Catholic will look to keep its momentum this weekend when they host to Landmark foes. The Cardinals take on Drew on Saturday before they face Scranton on Sunday.
