Cardinals Fall in Landmark Opener Versus Juniata

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's tennis team could not overcome multiple injuries in its Landmark and home 2017 opener on Saturday at the Jone and Marty Dowd Family Tennis Courts as they fell to Juniata, 7-2.

Catholic started the day strong with a No. 1 doubles win as the Cardinals' All-Landmark combo of senior Juan Lorido and junior Jan Lasota combined for the 8-5 victory.

The Cards also went on to take No. 3 doubles match as sophomore Ted Tiu and rookie Jack Emerick posted an 8-4 win.

Singles matches would not go Catholic's way however as two Cardinals were forced out of action mid-match due to injuries as Juniata took all six bouts.

It will be a quick turnaround for the Cardinals as they continue Landmark action on Sunday at 1 p.m., at Susquehanna.
