Box Score WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse team earned a buzzer-beating victory on Saturday at Arcadia as junior Bennett Bradley scored with one second left on the clock to earn the win, 9-8.
Catholic overcame an early two-goal deficit in the first quarter as the Cards scored six-straight over the next 20 minutes. Arcadia was able to rally and knot the game at 8-all with 2:52 left, but Bradley came up clutch with the heroics. Bradley finished with a four-point day.
Bradley and senior Tony Fisher each netted two goals. Fisher was joined by classmate Ethan Rodriguez with multi-point days as he netted a goal and dished an assist.
Seniors Tim Keith and Jack Oakes, along with rookie Cormac Bateman each tallied scores.
Rookie goalkeeper Alex Mulyk improved to 3-1 overall as he stopped 11 shots.
Catholic won many battles as they held advantages in ground balls (26-21), turnovers (8-15), shots (40-32) and faceoff wins (10-8).
The Cardinals continue their two-game road swing at Marymount this Wednesday at 7 p.m.
