WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America volleyball team went 2-2 at this weekend's Wilkes University Colonel Clash Invitational as the Cardinals defeated Keystone and Wilkes but fell to Morrisville State and Kean.

The Cards went over on Keystone and Wilkes in straight sets but were tripped up, 3-0 and 3-1 against Morrisville and Kean, respectively.

Catholic used well-rounded efforts to earn both of its wins. The Cardinals had four players with seven-plus kills against Keystone and did the same against Wilkes.

Sophomore middle hitter Isabelle Cooper led way with eight kills and added an assist, three blocks and three digs in the win over Keystone.

Against Wilkes, senior Amy O'Connor paced Catholic with nine kills and added three digs and three blocks. Classmate Jordan Villaruel also had a match-high 23 digs.

The Cards got impressive performances versus Kean from O'Connor and freshman Patricia Martinez as each had 16 kills. Martinez also went for the double-double with 13 digs. Senior Michelle Seals made her return to the court and got the double-dip as well with 28 assists and 11 digs.

Catholic had seven different players with kills and five with four-or-more against Morrisville State, but none went over the seven-point plateau.

Seals had her second-straight double-double of the day with 18 assists and 12 digs.

Catholic plays its final home game of the year against Marymount on Wednesday, October 25 at 7 p.m., on Senior Night.
