Box Score WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America volleyball team improved to 11-4 on Wednesday night inside the DuFour Center as the Cardinals swept Washington College, 3-0.
The Cards rallied in the second set, overcoming a five-point deficit to help secure the straight-set win. Catholic trailed, 17-12, but used an 11-6 run to tie it all 23-all, before taking the next two points for the win. The Cardinals went on to never trail again.
Six different players registered at least three kills, as the Cards outhit the Shorewomen.
Senior middle hitter Kathryn Herrington led the way with a match-high 12 kills, hitting .524 for the game. She also added three blocks and two digs.
Junior setter Michelle Seals added a double-double performance, assisting on 32-of-36 kills while chipping in 10 digs.
Catholic begins Landmark Conference play this weekend at Moravian, taking on the host Greyhounds in addition to facing Elizabethtown.
