WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's tennis team played its first road match of the 2016-17 season, but were edged at St. Mary's 5-4.
The Cardinals won at the top of the ranking sheet as No. 1 singles player Juan Lorido won, 6-3, 6-2 and teamed with Jan Lasota at the top doubles spot to win , 8-6. Lasota also was victorious at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
Catholic picked up its fourth win of the day at rookie Jack Emerick won at No. 6 singles, 7-5, 7-5.
Next up, the Cardinals host Stevenson at Thursday, September 22, at 3 p.m.
