Box Score 2 WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America volleyball team won all four matches at the 18th annual CUA Guetle Invitational, including two more wins on Saturday to claim the championship title and trophy.
The Cardinals swept both Pitt-Greensburg and Bridgewater, 3-0, to move to 7-2 overall on the season.
Against the Bobcats, the Cards held Pitt-Greensburg under 15 points in each set and .308 as a team.
Tournament MVP Kathryn Herrington once again led the way with a match-high 13 kills while junior setter Michelle Seals racked up 31 assists.
In the deciding game against Bridgewater, the Cardinals played strong at the net with 12 blocks and held off the Eagles in sets three and four, 28-26 and 26-24, respectively.
Both Herrington and All-Tournament Team selection Mary Paige Nesfeder totaled 10 kills while fellow all-tourney player, senior libero Michelle Bouchard, kept the defense strong with 13 digs.
The Cards continue its five-game homestand this Wednesday against local foe Mary Washington at 7 p.m.
