Ashland, Va. - The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team outscored Randolph-Macon College, 16-13, on the road Saturday afternoon.

Four Cardinals scored hat tricks during the non-conference matchup, juniors Laura Dunn, Ana Brandenburg, Alexis Bosilovic, and sophomore Nicolette Crisalli. Fellow junior Clair Schmitzer put two between the pipes while classmates Jenna Van Middelem and Anna Stumme each had one.

The Cardinals went head-to-head with the Eagles before breaking open the game in the second half, seeing five of six ties in the first 30 minutes of play.

The Yellow Jackets got off to an early start with a goal in the first minute of play. Dunn put the Cardinals on the board with an unassisted shot in the fifth minute for her 20th goal of 2016. RMC answered with a goal just 30 seconds later to pull ahead 2-1.

Stumme and Brandenburg scored next for the Cards before the Jackets notched two, leading 4-3. Schmitzer tied the game at four, but the Jackets hit two in less than a minute.

The Cardinals took the first two-point lead of the game with four unanswered goals, back-to-back from Crisalli followed by back-to-back from Bosilovic in a three minutes span. The Yellow Jackets sent one more into the cage before the end of the first half, bring the score to 8-7 in favor of the Cardinals.

RMC scored the first goal of the half, bringing the game to its sixth and final tie. Catholic broke away with four in a row (Bosilovic, 1, Brandenburg 2, Van Middelem, 1). RMC scored one before the Cards notched two more (Dunn, Schmitzer) to advance their lead to 14-9.

With under 12 minutes to play the Yellow Jackets looked to make a run, scoring four goals. The Cardinals would only allow two unanswered before Dunn and Crisalli scored back-to-back. RMC scored their final two goals with less than four minutes to play, but their rally would not be enough as the Catholic came out on top, 16-13.

Along with her three goals, Dunn dished out three assists to tally six points for the day. Bosilovic won five draw controls for the Cardinals while freshmen Jessica Lyons and Erin Dugan each won three.  Fellow freshman Christina De Cesaris earned her third win of the season with five saves guarding the Catholic cage.

The Cardinals return to action, taking on No. 17 York College of Pennsylvania in the nation's capital on Wednesday, April 13 at 7 p.m.
