Lorido Wins Twice at No. 1 to Push Catholic Past Etown, 6-3

Elizabethtown, Pa. – The Catholic University of America men's tennis team was victorious on the road versus Elizabethtown in Landmark action, downing the Blue Jays, 6-3.

Junior Juan Lorido led the way with two victories, both coming in the No. 1 slot. The Miami, Fla., native won 6-1, 6-3 in singles action and combined with senior Rocky Alhaqbani to take the top doubles match, 8-3. Alhaqbani also won his singles match at No. 4, 7-5, 6-2.

Sophomore Jan Lasota also picked up two wins, earning the victory at No. 2 singles with a score of 6-2 in both sets while teaming with rookie Ted Tiu for an 8-5 win at No 2 doubles.

Second-year player Rob Alexander secured Catholic's sixth win with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 5 singles over Evan Hinkley.

The Cardinals return home to the Dowd Family Tennis Courts next Saturday as they take on Juniata at 1 p.m.
