Sellingsgrove, Pa. – The Catholic University of America softball team earned a Landmark Conference split at Susquehanna on Sunday afternoon.  SU took the first game 5-2, but he Cardinals came back for a 6-1 victory in game two.

The Cards now improve to 17-7 overall with a 5-3 record in league play, good for sole-possession of third place and just two games back of first.

Five different Catholic players tallied RBI's in the win with six Cardinals registering hits. In a 1-1 tie at the top of the sixth, the Cards came alive for three runs to take the lead before adding to more in the seventh.

Sophomore Megan Colline got things started off with a double to center before Erin Adams got the game-winning runner over to third on a single. Rookie Hailey Horton brought it in with a single and Alyssa Keane followed with a two-RBI double.

Colline also went five innings in the circle, allowing just one run, giving way to freshman Olivia Ellis, who picked up the two-out save; the first of her career.

Junior catcher Kristina Lozupone went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI in addition another double, run and RBI in the initial game.

Catholic scored first in to start off the doubleheader on Lozupone's RBI double and added another run on a wild pitch, but Susquehanna came back late, tying in the fifth before going up with a three-run sixth inning.

The Cardinals continue road action this Thursday with a doubleheader at Gallaudet, starting at 3 p.m.
