Men's Lacrosse Drops First Home Game of 2016 Against Elizabethtown, 16-12

Box Score

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse team entered Saturday night's game at Cardinal Stadium a perfect 6-0 at home, but a second half Elizabethtown push handed the Cards their first loss in D.C., 16-12.

Elizabethtown took a 4-1 lead early in the second quarter and led 8-4 at the break, but Catholic fought back, scoring two goals to start the third quarter. It was the Blue Jays' push from there that gave Etown some breathing room as a 7-2 run over the next 23 minutes seemed put the game away.

The Cardinals would not go down without a fight however as they scored four goals in just over a minute in a half, including two scores by junior attack Tim Keith. Catholic could get no closer however, dropping its first home and Landmark Conference game of the year.

Keith was joined by classmate Jack Murphy and sophomore Liam Clancy as two-goal scorers. Eight different Cards found the scoresheet as Keith led the charge with four points, adding two assists.

Elizabethtown's Joe Clark led all scorers with four goals and five points.

The Cardinals will look to get back on the winning track next Saturday, April 2, at Drew.
