Box Score WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America volleyball team went toe-to-toe with Susquehanna on the road in the Landmark Conference Semifinals on Wednesday night. The Cardinals went to extra points in the first set before falling, 26-24, and the River Hawks went on to win, 3-0.
Catholic battled to a 24-all first set, but Susquehanna took the set and seemed to take momentum. The Cards continued to fight however, battling to a 23-all game in the second, but the River Hawks were once again able to close it out.
SU led by just four, 19-15, in the third, but used at 6-3 to close out the match and advance to the Landmark Conference Championship.
Senior Mary Paige Nesfeder led the way offensively with 13 kills and just missed a double-double with eight digs, also adding two blocks.
Defensively, libero Michelle Bouchard posted a game-high 27 digs and registered three assists.
