WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's tennis team improved to 3-1 overall with a perfect win over Hood on Thursday afternoon. The Cardinals took each match for a 9-0 victory.
Sophomore Erin Cole put forth a strong performance to lead the Cards, winning in straight sets at No. 1 singles, not dropping a point for the, 6-0, 6-0 win.
Cole also teamed with rookie Sierra Musumeci for a sweep at No. 2 doubles, 8-0. Musumeci was strong in her singles match, dropping just one point in a 6-1, 6-0, win a No. 2 singles.
Junior Sarah MacLean and senior Faith Tamuleviz earned an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while rookie Sophia Czerniecki was victorious at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Catholic took the final two singles bouts and last doubles match by default.
The Cardinals wrap fall league play on a three-game win streak and return to the court again on February 24, 2017, at Salisbury.
