WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America volleyball team went toe-to-toe with Stevenson inside the DuFour Center on Thursday night, but were topped by the Mustangs, 3-1.

After falling in an extended point, 26-24, first set, the Cardinals rallied to tie it at one apiece with a five-point in the second set. Stevenson was able to take control however with a strong third and carried the momentum into the fourth for the win.

Catholic got a career-high 13 kills from junior middle hitter Amy O'Connor, who hit .387 for the match. She was one of four Cardinals with seven-or-more kills, but the Mustangs boasted three with 11-plus.

Senior Mary Paige Nesfeder and junior Brynn Cooley each just missed on double-doubles. Nesfeder posted eight kills and 11 digs, while Cooley had nine kills and nine digs.

Catholic now enters a pivotal Landmark weekend at fellow conference unbeaten, Juniata. The Cardinals will also face Susquehanna.
