WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America volleyball team moved to 4-0 in Landmark Conference play and 15-5 overall, sweeping its second league weekend, downing Scranton and Goucher.

The Cardinals rolled past the host Gophers, holding them under 15 points in each set, including just nine in the third, before downing the Royals in four.

Junior outside hitter Brynn Cooley posted 10 kills in Catholic's three-set win and added four service aces to go along with five digs in the match.

The Cards held Goucher to a -.010 hitting percentage in the games with six blocks and 42 digs.

It was a team effort in game two as six players had three-or-more kills led by seniors Mary Paige Nesfeder and Kathryn Herrington who each had nine.

Cooley, Maura McConnell, Michelle Bouchard and Michelle Seals all had double-digit digs, as Bouchard paced the Cardinals with 23.

Seals posted a double-double in the contest, adding 27 assists in addition to her 15 digs.

The Cards will have a week off before heading to the Kean Invitational net weekend where they will face Kean, Alvernia, New Rochelle and Baruch.
