WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America women's tennis team topped McDaniel College 9-0, winning all five contested singles matches in straight sets on Thursday afternoon.
Catholic sophomore Jenna Gietl out played McDaniel's Madison Simmons 6-3, 7-6 at No. 1 singles while CUA sophomore Sarah MacLean topped MC's Victoria Simmons in the No. 2 spot.
MacLean joined junior Laura Torsiello in the No. 1 double spot for an 8-5 win over the Green Terror's Simmon's sisters. Gietl was accompanied by freshman Erin Cole to earn a 8-2 victory in the No. 2 doubles spot.
The Cardinals continue dual match competition on Saturday, September 26 when they travel to take on the Gettysburg Bullets at 9 a.m.
