WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's tennis team opened the year with a 6-3 victory over St. Mary's on Saturday at the CUA tennis courts.
The Cardinals took the top doubles match as the team of Laura Torsiello and Sarah MacLean topped the pair from St. Mary's, 8-7, 7-4.
Jenna Gietl picked up a singles win against Anna Passaniti, 6-3, 6-0, in the number two match. Maclean also won her singles match in the number three spot, 6-4, -62.
Next up, the Cardinals travel to Gettysburg on Saturday, September 26 at 9 a.m.
