Fredericksburg, Va. – A road trip to nearby Virginia did not go The Catholic University of America's way on Wednesday night as Mary Washington (8-3) topped volleyball in straight sets.

The Cardinals (6-5) could not get anything going offensively in the first two sets (25-12, 25-18), before rallying to 24-all in the third, but Mary Washington was able to take the next two for the win.

Sophomore libero Michelle Bouchard totaled 18 digs in the match, while classmate Michelle Seals registered 18 assists.

Four Cardinals posted four-or-more kills, but none eclipsed more than five, led by sophomore Brynn Cooley and junior Mary Paige Nesfeder. 

The road match started a long stretch away from home for Catholic as it was the first of 15-straight games outside of the DuFour Center. Next up, CUA heads to Neumann for three matches this weekend, starting with a doubleheader on Friday.
