WASHINGTON - The Catholic University women's tennis team bounced right back after Saturday's Juniata loss with a flawless win over Susquehanna University 9-0 on Sunday.
Liz Harvey and Laura Torsiello won their first doubles flight 8-5. At the second doubles flight, Eliana Martinez and Jenna Gietl won 8-4. Freshman power duo Maria Flores and Sarah MacLean demolished the third doubles flight 8-3. At the second doubles flight Torsiello won 6-3, 6-0.
Eliana Martinez won her third singles match 6-3, 6-4. Senior Emma Needham and freshman Jenna Needham matched in singles scores, both winning 6-2 and 6-2. Liz Harvey once again went to a third set and came out victorious 1-6,6-4, and 7-5. Freshman Sarah MacLean won an exhibition singles match 6-3, 6-0. The last match of the day was won by freshman Maria Flores in a hard fought 6-3,7-5 result. Catholic University women's tennis seeks to further improve an already impressive season record with next weekend's matches against Moravian at home.
