Box Score WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America volleyball team's season came to end on Wednesday night in the Landmark Conference Playoff Semifinals. The Cardinals fell to the No. 2 nationally-ranked Juniata Eagles, 3-0.
The Cards earned a spot in the postseason with two conference victories on the final day of league play, but matched up against the top seed and undefeated Eagles in the first round.
CUA was led by junior libero Michelle Bouchard who totaled a team-high 15 digs, but the Cards could not overcome the strong net play of Juniata that hit at a .318 clip and totaled 10 blocks.
Sophomore outside hitter Brynn Cooley tallied a team-best six kills, but the Eagles boasted three players with nine-plus and two with 13-or-more.
Though the season comes to an end for Catholic, the future is bright as head coach Nagy Abdelrazek returns all but one player from this season's roster next year, including six starters and four seniors in 2016-17.
