Box Score Owings Mill, Md. - The Catholic University of American volleyball team made it to 25 points twice against host Stevenson on Tuesday night, but were topped, 3-1. Junior outside hitter Mary Paige Nesfeder posted a team-high 18 kills in the match.
Nesfeder went for a double-double with 18 kills and 17 digs in the four-set match, but CUA could not come away with the victory.
The Cardinals were topped 25-16 in the first set, but came back to reach 25 points on each of the next two sets. It was Stevenson though that was able to match in the third, winning 27-25 to take command of the contest and the eventual win.
Nesfeder was joined by Maria Cristina Juelle and Brynn Cooley in double-digit kills, with Cooley posting a double-double of her own with 23 digs.
It was not enough however as Stevenson was able to take the match on its home court with a 25-20 deciding set.
