Box Score WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's volleyball team suffered its third consecutive defeat on the season with a four set (20-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-17) loss by the Shorewomen of Washington College on Tuesday.
After defeating the Shorewomen 25-20 in set one, CUA found themselves at 2-1 match deficit at the end of two 25-21 set losses and final 25-17 defeat for the match.
While Kathryn Herrington led in hitting percentage at .467 on eight kills and one error with 14 attempts, Mary Paige Nesfeder notched a team-high 11 kills. Michelle Seals distributed 30 assists. She and Nesfeder gathered 10 digs and 11 digs, respectively, as Herrington and Audrey Bizak each assisted on three blocks.
The Cardinals drop to 18-6 on the season with the loss.
The Cardinals return to action for the two-day Knights Fall Classic hosted by Neumann University in Aston, Pa. CUA takes on Ursinus on Friday, October 10 at 5:00 p.m., and then goes on to play Rutgers-Camden and Neumann on Saturday, October 11 at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
