WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America women's volleyball team wrapped up their two-game home stand with a five-set victory over the Spartans of York (Pa.) College on Wednesday in the DuFour Athletic Center.

CUA and YC went set for set with Catholic taking the non-conference match win with scores of, 22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 18-25, 15-9.

On her second highest hitting outing of the season, Maria Juelle led the birds with a team-high 15 kills and three service aces, as Michelle Seals registered 40 assists.  Michelle Bouchard, Juelle, Mary Paige Nesfeder and Seals were defensive solid gathering double-figure digging numbers: 24, 20, 11, 10, respectively.  Audrey Bizak was outstanding on the net capping the night off with three solo blocks and four block assists.

CUA heads to Goucher in Towson, Md., for Landmark Weekend #2 to square off against nationally ranked Juniata and Susquehanna on Saturday, Oct. 4.
