MADISON, N.J. – The 2013 season came to a close on Tuesday
for CUA, as the Cardinals fell to Drew 5-2 in the Landmark
Conference Tournament. Schuyler Hayward and Jason Quisberth teamed
up for a win at 3rd doubles for CUA, and Quisberth also won the 6th
singles point. The Cards finish the season with a record of
12-7.
Quisberth earned CUA's lone singles point of the afternoon
with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Vin Mahon at the 6th flight.
At 1st singles, Brian Bradley was upended by Raul Smego 6-3, 6-4,
while Cassian Utrie dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision at the 2nd
flight.
Hayward fell to Adam Clark 7-6, 7-6 at 5th singles, while Kyle
Kramer (3) and Joe Peters (4) did not finish their singles
matches.
In doubles competition, Hayward and Quisberth combined for an 8-5
win over Mahon and Tommy Butschi at the 3rd flight.
Bradley and Utrie fell by a score of 8-2 to Smego and Djedjy Hill
at 1st doubles, and Kramer and Peters dropped an 8-3 decision at
the 2nd flight.
This was CUA's fourth consecutive Landmark Conference
Tournament appearance and fifth overall. The Cards finished the
season with a 5-2 mark in the conference, and posted their fourth
consecutive winning season.
