TOWSON, Md. – The Cardinals improved to 4-1 in the
Landmark Conference with an 8-1 win at Goucher on Wednesday
afternoon. CUA received singles wins from Brian Bradley, Cassian
Utrie, Kyle Kramer, Schuyler Hayward, Jason Quisberth and Joe
Trinity, and the Cards also won doubles points at the 2nd and 3rd
flights.
In singles competition, Bradley earned a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over
Seth Hoesman at the 1st flight, while Utrie picked up a 6-4, 6-2
victory against David Spivey at 2nd singles.
Kramer defeated Pat Murnin 6-2, 6-0 at 3rd singles and Hayward
downed John Bescoby 6-3 ,6-2 at the 4th flight.
At 5th singles, Quisberth put away Seth Manfield 6-3, 6-0, and
Trinity wrapped things up with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Cody Nelson at
6th singles.
In doubles action, Hayward and Quisberth teamed up for a
hard-fought 9-7 win at the 2md flight, while Kramer and Trinity
defeated Nelson and Manfield 8-1 at the 3rd flight.
Bradley and Utrie were upended at the 1st flight by a score of
8-6.
CUA returns home for its next match, hosting Drew on Saturday
afternoon. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
