MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Behind a sensational comeback by
Brian Bradley, CUA downed Eastern Nazarene 6-3 on Wednesday
afternoon. Bradley was down 5-1 in the second set of his 1st
singles match, before rallying for a 7-5 victory. Bradley was one
of five Cards to win singles points, which also included Kyle
Kramer, Joe Peters, Jason Quisberth, and Schuyler Hayward.
Bradley won the first set of his singles match 6-4 vs. Austin
Steelman. He then fell behind 5-1 and was faced with a 40-15 score
in the set, before unleashing his terrific comeback.
Eastern Nazarene's Sam McKay-Corkum won the 2nd singles
point by default, but CUA took care of business from there.
Kramer earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Tim Luz at the 3rd flight
and Peters downed Tyler Perron 6-4, 6-1 at 4th singles.
At the 5th flight, Quisberth defeated Kevin Paterno 7-6, 6-2, and
Hayward picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win against Nick Thompson at 6th
singles.
Eastern Nazarene won the first two doubles matches, but Kramer and
Peters teamed up to earn the 3rd flight point, 9-7 over Perron and
Paterno.
On Thursday, CUA closes out its spring break trip when the
Cardinals face Westminster at 11:30 a.m.
