Catholic Men's Tennis Ends Fall Action at .500

WASHINGTON – Catholic University freshman Juan Lorido concluded his fall debut as a Cardinal 6-0 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles action to assist in the team's 3-3 fall finish.

CUA opened the season on Saturday, Sept. 14 with a 9-0 win at Hood and concluded that weekend with a 7-2 victory over Saint Mary's (Md.) on Sunday, Sept. 15.

The next three competitions consisted of a 5-3 loss to Randolph-Macon on Friday, Sept. 20, a 5-4 loss to York (Pa.) on Saturday, Sept. 21 and a 7-2 loss to Loyola (Md.) on Thursday, Sept. 26.

The Cards ended the season with a 9-0 sweep of Stevenson on Sunday, Sept. 29.

Lorido went 5-0 as the No. 1 singles player and secured one win during a No. 2 singles match.  Lorido and senior Brian Bradley went 3-0 in the No.1 doubles pair.  Sophomore Conor Wilson was the second Cardinal to go undefeated with a 2-0 record as the No. 6 singles player.  No. 4/No. 5 singles player senior Jason Quisberth concluded the season 4-2 and fellow classmate Joe Peters finished the season 3-3 in the No. 3 singles slot.  The two joined forces as the No. 2 doubles duo for a 3-2 record.

The men's tennis team returns to action on Thursday, March 13 for regular season play.  The Cards open 2014 against Albion in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
