WASHINGTON – CUA improved to 2-0 in the Landmark Conference with a 7-2 win over Moravian on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals received singles wins from Jean Paul Roman, Brian Bradley, Joe Peters, Jason Quisberth and Kyle Kramer, and CUA also won a pair of doubles points.
Cassian Utrie was upended 6-1, 6-4 at first singles, but the Cardinals reeled off five straight wins from there.
Roman downed Doug Morrow 6-2, 6-0 at the second flight, Bradley earned a 6-4, 6-4 win over Drew Shreter at the third flight and Peters defeated Lewis Cooper 6-1, 6-4 at the fourth flight.
Quisberth earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Brad Kutcha at fifth singles and Kramer swept David Chan 6-0, 6-0 at the sixth singles.
In doubles action, Utrie and Roman won the first flight match 8-3, while Bradley and Quisberth swept Kutcha and Chan 8-0 at the third flight.
Shreter and Cooper downed Peters and Kramer 8-6 at second doubles.
The Cardinals get right back to work tomorrow afternoon when CUA hosts Merchant Marine Academy in a make-up match. Start time is set for noon.
