Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. – CUA dropped a 3-0 decision to Lynchburg
on Sunday in the Cardinals' final match of the weekend.
The Hornets won by set scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-19.
Following the day's action, CUA falls to 24-7, while
Lynchburg ups its record to 21-6.
Senior Kristina Purcell led the Cardinals with 17 digs, while
classmate Claudia Jean finished with 15 digs and 16 kills.
Bridget Kulesh and Kelly Crimmins added five kills each, and
freshman Mariana Cruz finished with 26 assists and seven digs.
Meghan Chefalas added six digs and a kill, and Fallon Foster
totaled three assists and a dig.
For Lynchburg, Molly Deacon (13) and Brittany Crawford (12) both
finished in double digits for digs, and Rebecca Loftis totaled 13
kills to lead the Hornets.
Sunday's match followed a pair of 3-0 sweeps by CUA on Saturday.
The Cardinals took down Shenandoah in the opener, before
taking care of host Roanoke College in the nightcap.
CUA closes out its regular season with four matches this week,
beginning with a trip to Gallaudet on Tuesday. Start time is
set for 7 p.m.
The Cardinals will then face Mary Washington on the road on
Thursday (7:00), before closing things out on Saturday vs.
Bridgewater (11 a.m.) and Frostburg State (3 p.m.) on Senior
Day.
