CHESTERTOWN, Md. – CUA suffered a pair of 3-0 losses on
Saturday afternoon, falling to Franklin and Marshall and Washington
College. The Cardinals fell to the Diplomats by scores of
25-10, 25-15, 25-21 and in the nightcap the Shoremen upended CUA by
scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-15.
In the day's first match, freshman Isabel Eberstadt led the
Cardinals with 16 digs, to go along with four kills, while Katie
Chefalas, Bridget Kulesh and Kelly Crimmins all totaled three
kills.
Chefalas added 11 digs, while Ines Zanotti led the Cardinals with
six assists.
Franklin & Marshall received a match-high 16 kills from Julie
Harvey and 16 digs from Katy May. In addition, Caroline
Hubbard handed out 31 assists.
Against the Shoremen, Zanotti handed out 22 assists to go along
with 12 digs and five kills, while Eberstadt had 15 digs and five
kills. Chefalas registered 17 digs for CUA and Crimmins
finished with a team-leading six kills.
Washington College was led by Lauren White's 27 assists and
12 kills and Kate Liccione's 17 digs.
CUA will return to the court on Wednesday evening when the
Cardinals host cross-town rival Gallaudet inside the DuFour Center
on Senior Night. Start time is slated for 7 p.m.
