LANCASTER, Pa. – The Cardinals earned their 19th victory
of the season on Wednesday evening by downing Lancaster Bible
3-1. Game scores were 28-26, 22-25, 25-13 and 25-11 as CUA
moved to within one win of notching its third consecutive 20-win
season.
Individually, CUA was led by Kelly Crimmins and Bridget Kulesh
with 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Kristina Purcell totaled
43 digs, with Katie Chefalas (25), Isabel Eberstadt (15) and
Kristen Schoeffling (14) joining her in double figures.
Michaela Carroll handed out a team-high 45 assists and also
notched seven digs, while Chefalas and Tess O'Leary added
eight kills apiece and Katrina Baccetti totaled seven.
For the Chargers, Lauren Heliger was one of four players with 10
or more digs as she totaled 34. She also registered 23 kills
to complete the double-double, while Katie Coomber handed out 37
assists.
CUA will now host the second Landmark Conference round robin
weekend beginning on Saturday inside the DuFour Center. The
Cardinals will take on Moravian at 1 p.m. on Saturday and then on
Sunday CUA will host Scranton at 11 a.m. and Susquehanna at 1.
