The Catholic University of America football program has an incredibly deep and storied tradition in college football dating back to the late 1800s.
We have the unique history of being an Orange Bowl victor and a Division III playoff participant. The changes in college football since the 1936 Orange Bowl victory have not only affected the schools at the FBS level but have manifested themselves heavily in Division III football as well. One of the most significant changes in the college athletics landscape is the need for outside financial support to lift a program’s competitive status.
I am writing to you today to let you know about the beginning of The Catholic University of America Gridiron Club in support of our football program and am asking you to join us along the way. The Gridiron Club will be an exclusive group of individuals, with a great passion for CUA football, who desire to see the Cardinals elevate to the national stage.
We are working to become an elite national-level program and we will need the elite support of the Cardinal football community to get there.
To compete with the teams that are reaching the Division III playoffs year after year, we will need support from our community of alumni, parents, and friends of Catholic football. Whether you have supported our program in the past or are considering contributing today for the first time, your support will help us meet our goal of being a Division III national power and playing in the playoffs each season.
Our young men are pushing themselves in every facet of their lives to be the best that they can be as both students and athletes.
Your commitment to the Gridiron Club and our program allows us to support our young men as they work to take Catholic football to a place it has not been for a very long time. We belong on the national stage and we need your help to get there!
The Gridiron Club is a tiered club offering different levels of commitment to support the Cardinal football program. I hope that we can count on you to support the Birds at one of these levels.
